2015/2016 Teams Posted

The 2015/2016 Newport Harbor Field Hockey Teams have been posted to the Teams Page.

“Thank you to all who participated in the summer camp and tryouts. The Newport Harbor Field Hockey program is very competitive. The coaching staff had to make some very difficult decisions as we considered each athlete’s skill, speed, stamina, strength, progression, coach-ability, work ethic, attitude, and 4-year potential. While we look forward to the upcoming season, we regret having to cut any player, or keep any player from advancing to another team, and recognize the dedication and commitment that she has shown by participating in the summer camp and tryouts. We hope that this disappointment does not stop athletes from pursuing the many other activities and programs offered at Newport Harbor High School. We also invite those who did not get placed onto a team to tryout next year. If you have any questions or would like an assessment of current strengths and areas for improvement, please feel free to contact me at amandamboyer@gmail.com. Thank you again for your participation and understanding.” – Amanda Boyer

Stanford Camp

Coach Amanda Boyer is interested in taking a group of girls to the Stanford Field Hockey Overnight Camp, July 15 – 18.

The Stanford Field Hockey Camp will focus on basic and advanced skills, position play, field hockey fundamentals and team strategy. Located on the beautiful Stanford campus in Palo Alto California, this high tempo skills camp provides technical teaching and skill development, in a fun yet competitive environment. Participants will experience a combination of skill development and game play situations in an intensive format with multiple repetitions. Participants stay in the dorms and eat meals together on campus at Stanford University.

The Newport Harbor Field Hockey Boosters is working out a way to help lower the cost of the camp; the amount discounted will depend on how high the interest level is. Please email newportharborfieldhockey@gmail.com if you are interested and able to commit to that time frame.
