Finish Strong Campaign

Dear Parents, Coaches, and Board Members:

It’s hard to believe the end of our season is here!  Congratulations to JV and Frosh Soph on an outstanding season!  Varsity moves on to compete in the Tournament of Champions beginning Monday at Glendora High School.  All JV and Frosh Soph players are welcome to come on the bus to cheer on Varsity if they want to!  Thank you to the coaches, parents and team moms who worked hard all season with team dinners, carpools, signs, food for tournaments, extra waters and Gatorades, snacks, Carwash, Play for a Cure Day, Senior Day and mostly your overall support for the Field Hockey program!   This is one of the best athletic programs at Newport Harbor because of the amazing players, coaches and families who are dedicated to this sport!

Just wanted to let you know, it is not too late to make your donation to our Finish Strong Campaign.  Your donation allows us to get extra training, state of the art equipment, additional coaching support for in-season, post season and off-season, summer camp coaches, tournament fees, lodging and food for tournaments, team bonding events, and much more.  There are two other important reasons we hope you will consider participating in our “Finish Strong” campaign.   First, 100% participation is a strong indicator to our coaches that we value them and their outstanding commitment to our children and the program.   Second, your contribution allows us to draw on a matching donation previously given to the program, resulting in your support being doubled!   I’ve listed the different donation levels below that include spirit gear and banquet tickets, but any amount is appreciated and supports the continuation of this great program.   Thank you to the families who have generously donated to our campaign thus far!

$2500 – 4 tickets to Banquet, 1  hat or visor, 2 FH apparel and 1 yard sign

$1500 – 3 tickets to Banquet, 1 hat or visor, 2 FH apparel

$1000 – 2 tickets to Banquet, 1 hat or visor, 1 FH apparel

$500 – 2 tickets to Banquet, 1 hat or visor

$100 – supporter

Any Amount – 100% Participator

Your donation check can be made out to NHHS Field Hockey Boosters. It is also possible to donate to the Newport Harbor Educational Foundation, in order to receive your tax deduction. You simply indicate how much of your donation is restricted to Field Hockey and make your check out to Newport Harbor Educational Foundation (or NHEF).   The Tax ID# is 33-0676878.

You may give your donation to Nancy Vaughan or mail to:  Nancy Vaughan, NHHS Field Hockey Boosters, 1315 Antigua Way, Newport Beach, CA 92660.

It was a fun day at Newport Harbor Field Hockey practice a few weeks ago when Coach Amanda gave a list of announcements and then finished a group discussion by explaining to the girls that they need to take very good care of their uniforms because they need to last another 15 years so that Coach Kerrie Rowe’s daughter can wear it! Yes, Coach Kerrie is expecting a baby girl!! Congratulations to Kerrie and Ryan!
