A MESSAGE FROM THE ATHLETIC OFFICE:

ATTENTION ALL 9TH GRADE STUDENT ATHLETES

You are required by the state of California to take the state physical fitness test one last time. We will be offering multiple opportunities for you to take the tests. To avoid any possibility of dropping a letter grade in your sport, please attend on of the nine sessions listed below.

Please meet at 7:00 a.m. at Davidson Field on one of the following days:

  • WEDNESDAY, APRIL 16
  • FRIDAY, APRIL 18
  • MONDAY, APRIL 21
  • FRIDAY, APRIL 25
  • MONDAY, APRIL 28
  • FRIDAY, MAY 2
  • MONDAY, MAY 5
  • WEDNESDAY, MAY 7
  • FRIDAY, MAY 9

You must show up in shorts, t-shirt, and running shoes ready to give your best effort. The test will take approximately 45 minutes. The test includes mile run, flexibility test, curl ups, push ups, trunk extension, height and weight.

For Grades 9 – 12 in the 2014-2015 school year
July 28 – August 8
New Players @ 2:00 – 4:00 p.m.
Returning Players @ 3:00 – 5:00 p.m.

Newport Harbor High School Field Hockey Tryouts
August 11 – 13
*The Newport Harbor High School Field Hockey Tryouts are separate from the Newport Harbor Field Hockey Summer Camp. Newport Harbor Field Hockey is a competitive program and spots are limited. No player, returning or new, is guaranteed a spot on any team. Student athletes are evaluated on attributes such as skill, speed, stamina, strength, progression, coach-ability, work ethic, attitude, commitment, character, and potential.

Off Season Field Hockey

Welcome to the second semester of the school year!

We will be offering off season field hockey on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:30 – 5:00 p.m. at Harper. All returning players that will be trying out in the summer are to participate if they are not in another sport.

For those who are joining from winter sports, please bring a contribution of $30 to post-season practice on Tuesday.

Club Field Hockey – U14 & U16 Travel Team Tryouts

Here is some information for Mulligan U14 & U16 Travel Team Tryouts that we received:

The Mulligan Field Hockey Club is holding tryouts for the U14 and U16 travel teams on THIS Saturday, January 4, 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. at Edison High School behind the track. The travel teams will attend several tournament held in California from January – May. There is no fee for the tryout.

*Mulligan will also hold some Spring Clinics, the dates and times for these are TBA.

Caldwell ‘Wells’ Paul Boyer, 7 lbs and 20 inches, was born this morning at 1:06 a.m.

Amanda and Jason are so thankful for all of your encouragement, support, and thoughts. Jayden can’t wait for everyone to meet his new little brother, Wells!
