Mulligan Club

It is highly recommended that returning Newport Harbor Field Hockey players participate in club field hockey. This is a great opportunity to train for field hockey during the off season with high level coaches, Newport Harbor Field Hockey teammates, as well as other players from around Orange County. The commitment is only two days a week and has proven to improve individual skills tremendously. There are a number of NHFH players who are already taking advantage of Mulligan Club Field Hockey, but for those who haven’t received information, please read below.

Daily Pilot – King & Storch

Thanks to the Daily Pilot for featuring Newport Harbor Field Hockey players on December 18. Go Newport and best of luck to Sydney & Stephanie with your future endeavors!

King, Storch lead Tars’ honors

Newport Harbor goalie and midfielder earn top awards in Sunset League. Newport Harbor High senior Sydney King was named Most Valuable Goalkeeper of the Sunset League to highlight a group of Sailors who earned all-league honors in field hockey.

King will play field hockey at the University of Massachusetts. She helped lead the Sailors to their third straight Los Angeles Field Hockey Assn. Tournament of Champions title last month. She was a key member of all three championship teams and was named the Sunset League’s top goalie the past two years.

Senior Stephanie Storch, Co-MVP of the TOC, was named Most Valuable Midfielder of the Sunset League, as she helped the Tars to the league title.

Festival Photos

Some of the Newport Harbor Field Hockey players, alumni and coaches had a wonderful time in Arizona this past holiday weekend. They competed with Mulligan Field Hockey Club in the 2010 National Field Hockey Festival where there were 3500 athletes in attendance, making up 219 teams. The Divots team played teams from San Diego, North Carolina, Ohio, Illinois, and New Jersey. Amanda received report that the coaches were proud and that the girls held their own. Great job everyone! Thanks for the pictures Marlon!
