USA Field Hockey: Futures

If any player is interested in participating in the USA Futures Program, they must let one of the coaches know within the next two weeks. We have had Newport Harbor Field Hockey players participate in the past and they have had positive experiences. Futures is a really great environment for a player to reach new levels in their field hockey skill and experience.

About the Futures Program

The Futures program is the Olympic Development division of the United States Field Hockey Association. The Purpose of the Futures Program is to raise the level of field hockey throughout the United States and to identify talented players that might be “future” Olympic level athletes. Futures participants meet on scheduled off-season weekend dates at Moorpark College to receive coaching and skill development techniques from some of the nation’s top coaches. All coaches on staff are accredited USA Field Hockey coaches through our coaching education program. The Futures program consists of 27 hours of training from January through May that culminates in participation at the Regional Futures Tournament in May or June.  From the Regional Futures Tournament, Futures athletes have the opportunity to advance to higher levels of play through selection to elite teams at the National Futures Championship.
