This is the last Stix Weekly – time sure has flown by!

PROGRAM WIDE
– All players must report to Amanda on Monday, 11/4, about where they are headed for the second half of the semester’s PE credit.
– We will be offering post season field hockey through the end of the semester. Post Season will be Mondays and Wednesdays 2:30 – 5:00 p.m. It has not been decided if Off Season Field Hockey will be an option in the second semester as we need to wait on coaching staff availability.
– Make sure to get all photos to your team photography collector or team mom for the Banquet Team Videos by Monday, 11/4.

VARSITY
Monday – Banquet Video Day at 1:45 p.m. Be at Harper in white uniform with sweaters. We will be taking individual photos as well.
Tuesday – Program Day and Uniform Turn In, 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. at Harper. Uniform must be washed and clean to receive full deposit.

JUNIOR VARSITY
Monday – Banquet Video Day at 2:30 p.m. Be at Harper in white uniform. We will be taking individual photos as well.
Tuesday – Program Day and Uniform Turn In, 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. at Harper. Uniform must be washed and clean to receive full deposit.

FROSH/SOPH
Monday – Banquet Video Day at 3:00 p.m. Be at Harper in white uniform. We will be taking individual photos as well.
Tuesday – Program Day and Uniform Turn In, 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. at Harper. Uniform must be washed and clean to receive full deposit.

TOC Update

After a long, hard fight at Harvard Westlake in the TOC Semi-finals, the Sailors fell 0-1 in the final seconds of overtime. Newport Harbor Varsity Field Hockey travels to Moorpark College to play for third place in the Tournament of Champions tomorrow at 1:45 p.m. against Westminster High School. Edison and Harvard Westlake will play in the championship game at 3:45 p.m. There will be admission charge: $5.00 for adults, $3.00 for children, $1.00 for students with a valid ASB card and ID. Go Newport!

Newport Harbor Varsity Field Hockey (19-6) hosted Bonita for the Tournament of Champions Quarterfinals on Monday. Bonita scored an early goal, but Newport responded back quickly with a goal by Jordan Blanchfield to tie it up 1-1. After battling for the remainder of regulation time, the score remained 1-1 and the game went to 7 v 7 sudden victory 10 minute overtime. In the second minute of overtime Cameron Dewan passed the ball to Alex Palmer and Newport won the game 2-1. Go Newport!

A huge thank you to Frosh/Soph, JV, and Coach Taylor for making signs and cheering on Varsity!

Monday – Team Lunch at St. Andrew’s in the Student Center & Tournament of Champions Playoff Game @ Davidson Field at 3:15 p.m. Be at the field at 2:00 p.m. for set up.
Tuesday – Possibility of practice at 2:30 – 4:30 p.m. at Davidson Field and Team Dinner at the Conant Home.
Wednesday – Possibility of TOC Semi-Final Playoff Game: TBA
Thursday – Possibility of practice: TBA
Friday – Possibility of travel and overnight in Moorpark.
Saturday – Possibility of TOC Championship (3:45 p.m.) or 3rd Place Game (1:45 p.m.) at Moorpark College

Newport Harbor Varsity Field Hockey traveled to Edison High School and lost 0-4 to the Chargers. The Sailors begin the first round of the LAFHA Tournament of Champions on Monday against Bonita High School at Davidson Field.

Newport Harbor JV Field Hockey lost 2-3 in a hard fought battle against Edison High School.

Newport Harbor Frosh/Soph traveled to Harvard Westlake and had a great 2-1 victory! Go Newport!
