Every student participating in athletics must complete the athletic clearance process. Download the Athletic Clearance Instructions/Forms, then register at the Athletic Clearance Website – Home Campus. This will allow our athletes to do their clearance paperwork online. Every form can be filled out online and your sports coach will have access to the forms. This will cut down paperwork and allow the coach instant access to their athletes to see where they are in the clearance process. An athlete must be cleared before participating in any season of sport.

Field hockey players must complete their athletic clearance process before tryouts. All of the paperwork should be submitted online, NOT to field hockey coaches.

Newport Harbor High School Field Hockey Try-Out Dates & Practice Start

Newport Harbor Field Hockey is a competitive program and spots are limited. No player, returning or new, is guaranteed a spot on any team. Student athletes are evaluated on attributes such as skill, speed, stamina, strength, progression, coach-ability, work ethic, attitude, commitment, character, and potential.

*Practices and season for all teams begin Monday, August 14 with games beginning the week of 8/21.

– This is the last Stix Weekly – what a great season! Thank you for your incredible support and participation over the past few months!! It certainly flew by!
– The banquet evite was be sent via email. When you RSVP, please do not include players. Players should contact their coach if they cannot attend, otherwise we will assume that they are attending. If you did not receive the email, please contact newportharborfieldhockey@gmail.com.
– Information about Off Season Field Hockey will be sent to those enrolled in the class soon.

JV & VARSITY
Monday – Banquet Video Filming at 2:15 – 3:45 pm Wear White Uniform and Skirt. Bring stick.
Wednesday – Uniform Turn In, anytime between 2:00 – 2:30 p.m. at the Field Hockey office. All uniform items must be clean with stains removed (oxy clean!) as best as possible; The uniform you are returning includes plaid skirt, white home jersey, navy away jersey and practice jersey. Please return in large ziplock baggie.

– Below is the best laid out plans for the schedule this week. The times and dates are subject to change depending on the Varsity playoff game results, please check the website for updated information.
– Both teams will have a banquet video filming day and a uniform turn-in day that will either be scheduled for this week, or next week, depending on game results.
– A huge thank you to the Schneider Family and everyone who helped with the Shoot-a-Thon Fundraiser on Tuesday! It was a huge success and so fun!
– The end of the season Newport Harbor Field Hockey Banquet is on the evening of Thursday, November 17. You will receive an Evite soon!

VARSITY
Monday – Practice at 2:15 – 4:30 p.m. at Davidson Field and Team Dinner hosted by the Schimmelpfennig family.
Tuesday – Round 1 of Tournament of Champions at 4:30 p.m. at Davidson Field vs. Edison. Be at the field at 3:15 pm ready to set up the field and warm up. Wear white.
Wednesday – Practice 2:15 – 4:30 p.m. at Davidson Field
Thursday – Tournament of Champions Semi-Final Game at 7:00 p.m. at Davidson Field vs Marina.
Friday – Practice 2:15 – 4:30 p.m. at Davidson Field
Saturday – TOC Third Place Championship Game at 11:30 a.m. at Bonita High School vs. Huntington Beach High School. Bus departs at 9:45 am.

JUNIOR VARSITY
Monday – No practice.
Tuesday – Support Newport! Watch Varsity’s Round 1 TOC Game at 4:30 pm at Davidson Field.
