2019/2020 Teams Posted

The 2019/2020 Newport Harbor Field Hockey Teams have been posted to the Teams Page.

“Thank you to all who participated in the summer camp and tryouts. The Newport Harbor Field Hockey coaching staff had to make difficult decisions as we considered each athlete’s skill, speed, stamina, strength, progression, coach-ability, work ethic, attitude, and 4-year potential. While we look forward to the upcoming season, we regret having to cut any player, or keep any player from advancing to another team, and recognize the dedication and commitment that she has shown by participating in the summer camp and tryouts. We hope that this disappointment does not stop athletes from pursuing the many other activities and programs offered at Newport Harbor High School. We also invite those who did not get placed onto a team to tryout next year. If you have any questions or would like an assessment of current strengths and areas for improvement, please feel free to contact us at newportharborfieldhockey@gmail.com. Thank you again for your participation and understanding.” – The Newport Harbor Field Hockey Coaching Staff

College Camp Poll

For the past few summers Newport Harbor Field Hockey players have traveled to different Universities to participate in their Field Hockey Summer Camps. This year, we are hoping to send a group to a University again. The Newport Harbor Field Hockey Boosters is working out a way to help lower the cost of the camp; the amount discounted will depend on how high the interest level is. There are a quite a few different camps offered this year so we are looking for preferences on locations and dates. If you have a high level of interest, please click here to fill out the poll.

Top 15: Knipp

On Thursday evening, Newport Harbor Field Hockey senior Delaney Knipp was honored as one of the top student athletes from Newport Harbor, Corona del Mar, and Sage, for athletic and academic achievements, as well as community involvement, at the 58th Annual Athletic Awards Dinner. Special guest speaker, Chris Duplanty, three time olympian and silver medalist for water polo, offered four pieces of advice for the student athletes. The advice included the following points: remember who you are, believe in yourself, keep learning, and be responsible with what you have.

Thank you to the Newport Beach Chamber of Commerce for hosting such a special event to recognize the student-athletes.

Congratulations to Delaney for this exciting honor!
