Newport Harbor Varsity Field Hockey traveled to Westminster on Friday. After ending regulation time in a scoreless tie, the Sailors faced the Lions in sudden victory, 7v7 overtime. After a hard fought game, Alex Palmer hit the ball into the circle, Jordan Blanchfield crossed it across the goal, and Cameron Dewan deflected it into the goal for the win. Allana Rockwell, Cailynn Smethurst, Erika Nilsson, and Peyton Groves were noted for outstanding play. Newport (6-2) hosts Huntington Beach on Tuesday.
