Senior captain Emily Vaughan scored a goal off an assist from senior captain Cameron Dewan in the first half. Harvard Westlake scored in the second half to make it a 1-1 tie at the end of regulation time. In the sixth minute of sudden victory 7 v 7 overtime, Newport took advantage of a short corner where Dewan hit the ball from the top of the circle, junior Jackie Singer crossed the ball, and senior captain Peyton Groves scored at post to win the game.
