For Grades 9 – 12 in the 2012-2013 school year
July 9 – July 20
New Players @ 2:00 – 4:00 p.m.
Returning Players @ 3:00 – 5:00 p.m.

Newport Harbor High School Field Hockey Tryouts
July 23 – 25
*The Newport Harbor High School Field Hockey Tryouts are separate from the Newport Harbor Field Hockey Summer Camp. Newport Harbor Field Hockey is a competitive program and spots are limited. No player, returning or new, is guaranteed a spot on any team. Student athletes are evaluated on attributes such as skill, speed, stamina, strength, progression, coach-ability, work ethic, attitude, commitment, character, and potential.

Camp has begun!

Summer camp began yesterday and there was a big turnout for the ‘Newbies’. We are thrilled to see their excitement for learning the sport of field hockey.

Reminders: the student-athletes should be eating a good, healthy lunch (and breakfast!) and must bring water to camp.

A big thank you to Sue, Nancy, and Kathy for their check-in/registration help!

Summer Camp starts in less than 2 weeks! Some reminders and information:

JUNIOR HIGH CAMP
July 11-22, Monday thru Friday @ 4:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.
There is still room for 2011-2011 7th and 8th Graders! For registration information click here. E-mail us at newportharborfieldhockey@gmail.com if you’d like to get signed up.

HIGH SCHOOL SUMMER CAMP
All NHHS student-athletes (both new and returning players) must have their entire Athletics_Clearance_Packet and NHFH Registration Form completed and turned in either before camp (to the athletic office), or at the first day of camp. Summer Camp is coming! Just some information and a few reminders:

JUNIOR HIGH SUMMER CAMP
Junior High Camp Registration is still open. JH Camp will consist of 7th and 8th graders of fall ’11. Incoming freshman will be in the High School Summer Camp. Be sure to get registration sent in asap as we only have 40 spots. Registration close will be announced at www.newportharborfieldhockey.com.

HIGH SCHOOL SUMMER CAMP
Reminder that the Athletics_Clearance_Packet will be due on the first day of summer camp, as well as the Newport Harbor Field Hockey Summer Camp 2011 Registration Form and Contribution.

Athletic Clearance Packet

Just a reminder that it is mandatory for all Newport Harbor High School Field Hockey Summer Camp participants to complete the Athletic Clearance Packet before the first day of summer camp. Click here to download and print the Athletic Clearance Packet.

Physicals will be offered by Dr. Tischler at the Newport Orthopedic Institute on Monday, June 6 at 5:30 p.m. for $25. Make checks payable to NHHS Athletics. Bring completed forms (page 2 and 3 of the Athletic Clearance Packet). For more information, click here.

It should also be noted that it is mandatory for all students to have the Whooping Cough Vaccination by Fall 2011.

Junior High Summer Camp

This summer Newport Harbor Field Hockey will hold a Summer Camp for athletes in Junior High for the first time! Seventh and eighth graders are welcome to come learn the sport of field hockey.

The junior high camp will run two weeks (July 11 – 22) Monday thru Friday at 4 – 5:30 p.m. The cost is $125 and includes a camp tank top.

Due to field space, equipment, and coaching staff, the camp can only accept 40 junior high athletes. Acceptance will be on a first-come, first-serve basis. The first 40 registration packets received will be accepted into camp. Registration closing will be announced at newportharborfieldhockey.com.
