PROGRAM WIDE
The Newport Harbor Field Hockey gear (sweats & t-shirts) will be handed out on Wednesday at practice.

Tuesday – Home Game vs. Marina at 3:15 p.m., be at the field at 2:10 p.m.

Friday – Away game at Edison at 4:30 p.m., bus departs at 1:45 p.m. *Be sure to note the game time!

JUNIOR VARSITY

Tuesday – First League Game! Home Game vs. Fountain Valley. Be at the field at 3:15 p.m.
Wednesday – Home Game vs. Huntington Beach. Be at the field at 3:15 p.m.

– One week until the Car Wash Fundraiser on Saturday, September 24 at 8:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Each player is responsible for pre-selling ten tickets at $10 per ticket and for bringing four towels for drying. Money is due to coaches by this Friday, September 23.

Stix Weekly Changes

There have been schedule changes for our Tuesday games that were made this morning. Chaminade could not host the JV & Varsity games, so must host them at Harper Field (Davidson Field was not an option since we do not have a permit for tomorrow), which means that the Frosh/Soph game must be cancelled. We apologize for any inconveniences and are disappointed that the Frosh/Soph game had to be cancelled.

VARSITY
Tuesday – Home Game vs. Chaminade at 3:15 p.m. at Harper Field. Be at the field at 2:00 p.m. ready to set up the field and warm up.

JUNIOR VARSITY
Tuesday – Home Game vs. Chaminade at 4:30 p.m. at Harper Field. Be at the field at 3:15 p.m.

FROSH/SOPH
Monday – Practice at 2:30 – 4:30 p.m. & Team Dinner at the McCarthy Home.

– Mulligan Club Field Hockey Tryouts are this Saturday, September 17 at 7:00 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. at Edison High School. There will be a makeup tryout announced for Varsity players.
– Two weeks until the Car Wash Fundraiser on Saturday, September 24 at 8:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Each player is responsible for pre-selling ten tickets at $10 per ticket. Money is due to by Friday, September 23.
– FYI All field addresses and directions are listed on the page ‘FIELDS‘ which can be found along the top of the website.

Here is the first of many Stix Weekly posts. Each week there will be a post with everything (well, we’ll try) you’ll need to know for the upcoming week and near future. There will be a ‘Program Wide’ section as well as individual team sections. These our best laid plans for the week, so it is always subject to change.

Program Wide
– Car Wash Fundraiser is Saturday, September 24 at 8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Tickets were handed out at practice on Thursday. Each player is responsible for pre-selling ten tickets at $10 per ticket. Money is due by Friday, September 23.
– Information on USA Futures was posted on the website on Friday, make sure to let one of your coaches know if you are interested.

Varsity
Monday – Happy Labor Day!
Tuesday – First game of the season! Home game is on Davidson Field at 3:15 vs. Bonita. Players are to be at the field at 2:00 p.m., wearing white uniforms and white socks, ready to set up the field and warm up.
Wednesday – Practice at 3 – 5 p.m. & Team Dinner at the Newman Home.
Thursday – Away game at Harvard Westlake at 3:15. Players will be dismissed from class early, time TBA. Bring both jerseys and socks, and bring cleats and running shoes.
Friday – Practice at 3 – 5 p.m.
Saturday – Otay Ranch Field Hockey Tournament in Chula Vista, CA. Game times are 8 a.m., 11 a.m., and 1 p.m. Players are responsible for finding rides to and from the field and must be there by 7:15 a.m. Otay Ranch High School: 1250 Olympic Parkway, Chula Vista, CA 91913. If the team place in the top two spots in our pool, we will advance to continue play next Saturday, September 17, but we will leave Friday afternoon to spend the night before game day.

Our last stix weekly of the season! Just a few things to note:
– Uniform turn-in is on Monday, November 8. Bring a clean uniforms and skirt to receive your full deposit.
Varsity – 3:30 p.m.
Junior Varsity – 3:45 p.m.
Frosh/Soph – 4 p.m.
– Amanda has communicated with the Athletic Office regarding which sport each player will be going to; it is the player’s responsibility to find out details for her respective sport.
– Please make sure to RSVP for the banquet by November 11.
