Attendance

The athletic office has asked us to report every absence, even if it is excused, to the attendance office since field hockey is a class for credit.

Any player who is absent from practice or a game will be marked absent so it is important that parents call the attendance office to excuse players from their ‘class period’ for field hockey if they are going to be absent so that they are not marked truant. Players must still notify coaches of any absences or conflicts, this is just an administrative detail with the school and does not eliminate anything from our normal field hockey program and team rules.

Please email us at newportharborfieldhockey@gmail.com if you have any questions.

Parent Party!

The NHHS FH Boosters second annual “Kick Off Party” was held last Saturday night at Kurt and Barbara Yeager’s home.  It was a great time for everyone who attended to get to know each other and to share their daughter’s experiences with field hockey.  The Yeagers house was in perfect party mode thanks to Barbara and Lynn Pyle who co-chaired this event.  The food, drinks, lighting and table settings were are all perfect along with the summer evening weather.  Many of the parents got to try their stick skills in the backyard by taking shots on goal.  They soon came to realize the talent and effort it takes to play field hockey!   Later there was a trivia session on the rules of the game for prizes to those who had the correct answers and we also got a surprise impromptu speech from “Coach Peter” on his life in Kenya related to field hockey and his journey to America.  Overall it was a lot of fun and we raised a few dollars to help the program.

Thanks again to the Yeagers and Lynn Pyle!

The Parent Kick Off Party is approaching rapidly! An evite was sent out to your email one week ago (September 14). Please RSVP so that we can get a head count for planning purposes. The $20 per person donation will be collected at the door. We hope to see you there, it will be a fun night!

If you did not receive the evite, please email Barb Yeager at socr2xs@sbcglobal.net.

Thank You!

A big thank you goes out to Jeff Chandler, Tim Ward, Jim Palmer, Bart Evans, and Chris Rohan for working hard last night to get our field lined properly for our home game.

And today our Booster President, Jeff Chandler, went above and beyond his duties by mowing the grass and taking care of the field to prep for the home game. Thanks Jeff!
