Summer Camp Starts Monday!

Summer Camp begins this Monday, July 5. Be sure to bring plenty of water along with shin guards and a mouth guard. Look forward to seeing you all out on the field!

Reminder: All student-athletes must have a clearance packet on file in the Athletic Office for the 2010-2011 school year. The following forms must be completed prior to participation in any sport activity, which includes Field Hockey Summer Camp:

Field Hockey Yoga

A big thank you to Kristin Storey for teaching a yoga class for the Newport Harbor Field Hockey girls yesterday! There was wide range of experience, from first timers to yogis doing crow pose. It was a fun afternoon of yoga!

Heyyy Rojo!

A big congratulations is owed to Lauren Rojas for her recent honor in the Daily Pilot for an athletic award! Newport Harbor Field Hockey will miss her dearly but hopefully she’ll be able to continue her field hockey career in some capacity at Brown University. Best of luck Lauren!

“Rojas, who excelled in field hockey and lacrosse, will attend Brown University in the fall. She helped the field hockey team win two straight Los Angeles Field Hockey Assn. Tournament of Champions titles. A team captain, and a 4.29 GPA-student, she was named to the All-Sunset League second team as a senior and a junior.”

Cal Cup

Seventeen of Newport Harbor Field Hockey’s players were a part of the Mulligan Field Hockey Academy’s ‘Divots’ U16, U19, and Women’s Teams this past weekend at the 39th California Cup International Field Hockey Tournament in Moorpark, CA. There were 134 teams of all ages and levels – from 5 year old’s playing for their first season to the Girls Mexican National team – in attendance at Cal Cup. It sounded like a great experience and an amazing opportunity to play high level field hockey. Good work girls!

Open House at NHHS

Newport Harbor held an Open House and Freshman Information Night last night where extra-curricular programs and clubs had information booths set up for promotion and to answer questions. We had a great time meeting all of the new students (and their families) that may be joining us at summer camp!
