Mulligan Club

It is highly recommended that returning Newport Harbor Field Hockey players participate in club field hockey. This is a great opportunity to train for field hockey during the off season with high level coaches, Newport Harbor Field Hockey teammates, as well as other players from around Orange County. The commitment is only two days a week and has proven to improve individual skills tremendously. There are a number of NHFH players who are already taking advantage of Mulligan Club Field Hockey, but for those who haven’t received information, please read below.

Boosters: A Look to Next Season

To all NHHS Field Hockey Parents and Friends,

The 2010 season is over and it is hard to believe how quickly each season goes by!  No question the success of the teams and the joy our girls get from this sport helps things move along from the beginning of summer to the end of fall.  As President of the NHHS FH Booster Club I already have thoughts geared towards 2011.  One of those is filling various positions on committees and on the board.  Even though some of the positions may be filled by returning parents, I do not want to assume everyone will be back ready to go another year.  I hope so!!! But I realize everyone’s time is valuable and each year presents new challenges for all.  So please take some time to think it over and if you are willing to re-up from last year, great!  If you were on the sidelines in the past and want to be more involved going forward, that would be fantastic too!

The booster club board’s goal every year is to make sure we can provide the girls and the coaching staff with the best environment possible to succeed on the field and to have fun along the way.   We welcome new ideas but also want to preserve the traditions that have become a staple for this program.  Bringing new parents to the board and on committees is key to keep the field hockey energy going each year.  I have listed below all the positions but I do want to focus on two that I know are open on the board.  Secretary and VP.  We have added the VP position for next year to learn all the ins and outs of the program so that person will be ready for the following season to fill any open board positions or help coordinate some of the committees.  As our program grows so does our need for more help on the board as well as the committees.

VP                            Secretary                 Banquet Head      Parent Party Cord.

Parent Party Host       Car Wash                Uniforms               Merchandise Sales

Photography              Team Moms            Fields                     Alumni Game Cord.

If you have any questions about any of these positions please feel free to contact me, Nancy Rohan or Amanda Boyer.

In closing I want to send out a special thanks to Marlon and Kathy Liotta.  Their daughter Taylor is a senior and off they go to plenty of free time next year because they have given sooooo much of it the past 4 years.  Marlon took a zillion photos each year at almost every game and helped out with numerous things from painting to barbequing.  Kathy has been the go to person since she knew all the records and has been the glue in keeping all of us informed year round.  Any words I write cannot truly describe the effort they have given NHHS Field Hockey. Thank You Liottas!!!!!!!!

Go Sailors!
