NHFH for USA!

Coach Amanda Boyer and five Newport Harbor Field Hockey players traveled to Chula Vista on Friday to watch the USA Women’s Field Hockey team beat Canada 3-2. This was USA’s second win of a four game test series held at the USA Olympic Training Center. It was a great game, USA scored their third goal in the last two minutes – Torrie Albini from Escondido with a diving shot that rocketed into the back of the cage. The USA Women’s National Team will train in Chula Vista for the next ten months and will play host to Australia in the end of March and New Zealand in the end of April. More information to come.

F/S @ Pure Barre

While Varsity and JV traveled to an away game, Frosh-Soph did some traveling of their own…to a private class at Pure Barre!

The girls learned what the Pure Barre method is all about, including short sets of repetitive motions that target certain muscle groups with the use of rubber balls, mats, resistance bands, and of course, a ballet barre. Amy Brown led our team through the one-hour session, and at the end, we all agreed that it was an incredible workout, and a great strength-training alternative to practice.

Thank you so much for having us in your studio, Pure Barre!
