Sasha will be coaching the Junior Varsity team and Kyle will be coaching the Frosh/Soph team. Read more about both coaches at the Coaches Page and be sure to give them a warm welcome back to the program!

Boyer Named Varsity Coach

Amanda Boyer was named Varsity Coach for Newport Harbor Field Hockey last week. Amanda has been involved in the Newport Harbor Field Hockey program both as a coach and a player.  She has coached the Junior Varsity team for the past 3 years and was a 4-year Varsity Goalie during her high school career.  She is thrilled to accept the Varsity Coach position and eager to get into Field Hockey season. Devon Kelly – Victory with Honor

After 9 years of dedication to the Newport Harbor Field Hockey program, Devon Kelly has decided to transition from coach to fan. Devon exemplified the school & field hockey program’s high standard of victory with honor. She demanded high character, class and moral values. Devon went above and beyond the role of head coach to ensure the success of each player (as well as her coaching staff) both on and off of the field. She will be deeply missed as a coach, but will hopefully be found on the sideline at some Newport games this fall. Thanks for all of your hard work to make this program incredible Devon!

A few notes about Devon from a recent athletic survey:
“Devon Kelly is the best thing to ever happen to NHHS. She will be missed.”
“Devon Kelly was completely VICTORY WITH HONOR”
“Devon has done a great job and I think she has all the girls on board when it comes to Victory with Honor. I believe they had many opportunities to demonstrate this and I have been very proud of the program as a result.”
“The climate in Field Hockey is great, thanks to the awesome coaches!”
“Devon Kelly creates an atmosphere in Field Hockey where they address the whole player, not just athletic skills. Kudos!”
