Tomorrow, Thursday, November 12, Newport Harbor and Edison Field Hockey will be playing in a showcase game at Costa Mesa High School. The game is intended to bring excitement about field hockey to Costa Mesa High School to explore the option or opportunity to expand the sport. The game will begin at around 3:00 p.m. on the field by the blacktop. Post-season field hockey players will make up the team and are to be at the field at 2:30 p.m. for a very quick warm up, but if any players would like to join in, contact Coach Amanda Boyer today. Uniforms will be handed out at the field so make sure to wear spandex and a top you can switch.

Banquet RSVP
We are excited to see everyone at the 2014 Newport Harbor Field Hockey Banquet on Tuesday night (11/18) at 6:00 p.m. at St. Andrew’s in the Student Center.

This is the last Stix Weekly – time sure has flown by!
PROGRAM WIDE
– We will be offering post season field hockey through the end of the semester. Post Season will be Tuesdays and Thursdays, 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. Field location is TBA. Practice will begin on Thursday, November 13.
– Make sure to get all photos to your team photography collector or team mom for the Memory Book and Banquet Team Videos by Tuesday, 11/4 at the latest.
– The Banquet Invitation will be posted online very soon, but be sure to save the date: Tuesday, November 18!

TOC: 3rd Place
Newport Harbor Varsity Field Hockey won third place in the LAFHA Tournament of Champions on Thursday. The Sailors were trailing 0-1 at halftime, but then came back one minute into the second half to tie with a goal by junior Haley Martinez. Goals followed by junior Cameron Dewan, senior captain Jordan Blanchfield, and sophomore Sophie Schwarzenbach to secure a 4-1 win over the Vikings. Senior goalkeeper Erika Nilsson had 4 saves.
Edison beat Huntington Beach 4-0 to in the championship game.
All tournament team honors went to Jordan Blanchfield, Mia Bagiu, and Peyton Groves.
