Post-Season & Off Season

We apologize for the delay in this communication but in order to subsidize the costs for post-season, please consider bringing a contribution of $30 to post-season practice on Monday.

We would also like to let those who are interested know that we will be able to offer off season field hockey during the second semester. More information to come on which days that will be held on – right now it looks as if it may be Mondays and Thursdays 2:30 – 5:00 p.m.

Post-Season & Banquet RSVP

Post-Season will begin tomorrow at 2:30 p.m. at Harper. Attendance will be taken and reported as this is a PE Credit class. Post-season will be Mondays and Wednesdays at Harper until Christmas break and then we will post information if there are any changes to the schedule or location.

Please make sure to RSVP for the banquet as soon as possible (especially since the RSVP deadline is today), so that we can make all of the necessary arrangements. Click below to pay via PayPal.

TOC – THIRD PLACE

As seen in the Daily Pilot:

The Newport Harbor High field hockey team took third place in the Los Angeles Field Hockey Assn. Tournament of Champions after winning by forfeit against Westminster Saturday.

Westminster showed up two hours late to the scheduled third-place game at Moorpark College and Newport Harbor won by forfeit because the teams could not play due to the championship game’s start time, Newport Harbor Coach Amanda Boyer said.

“It was very disappointing, but the girls earned their spot to be there after the hard-fought semifinal game.”

The Sailors (20-7) lost in sudden-death overtime, 1-0, when Harvard-Westlake scored with 10 seconds left in the semifinals.

Newport Harbor’s Jordan Blanchfield, Cailynn Smethurst, Alex Palmer and Mia Bagiu earned all-tournament team honors.
